About Us

The Board of Health is responsible for assessing the status of public health in the community, developing policies to address public health needs and assuring that these needs are met.

The Borough of New Providence works with the Westfield Regional Health Department in ensuring the health and safety of the residents is always at the highest level. The Westfield Regional Health Department also keeps the community updated with up in coming laws and news items. The Board of Health is also responsible for inspecting and issuing permits to food vendors, food establishments, community pools and other New Providence businesses.

With the help of the Westfield Regional Health Department and the State of New Jersey the Borough is able to hold a Free Rabies Clinic every year in January to aide in the immunization of dogs and cats.
