A slow moving coastal low will bring heavy rainfall and flash flooding today into tonight. A widespread 3 to 5” inches of rain is likely for the watch area with locally 5-7" of rainfall possible, but confidence on occurrence and location is low at this point. Minor coastal flooding is likely through the Saturday AM high tide cycles. Please take the necessary precautions now to ensure your safety:
1) Move out any documents, equipment, and materials from low lying, flood prone areas including garages and basements.
2) Test and monitor sump pumps and inspect all areas for water intrusion while taking steps to mitigate loss
3) Move vehicles to high, safe areas to prevent flooding
4) Ensure proper drainage away from buildings by clearing out down spouts, gutters and storm drains.
5) Be prepared for possible power outages, downed limbs and trees, and possible downed wires.
6) Local conditions should be monitored and driving for non-emergency personnel should be limited during the storm. Flooding and major ponding on roadways is expected. Low lying areas and overpasses should be avoided.
