Please be aware that a scam we have seen in the past has resurfaced recently.
A resident reported that a suspect contacted them pretending to be a member of their family who was in trouble.
Typically, these scams will involve a suspect contacting a member of our elderly population and indicating that a loved one had been arrested and they are in need of cash for bail. Often times the victim will call a number provided and speak to a person they believe to be their loved one, who will muffle their voice and sound like they are in distress. The victim will then go to their bank and withdraw a predetermined amount of cash and deliver it to the suspect.
Please take a moment to reach out to any family or friend that may be vulnerable and advise them of what is taking place.
